It's Fabulous Blogger Friday!!

Happy Friday My Fabulous Bloggy Friends!!,
Welcome back for another edition of Fabulous Blogger Friday!! Today I am featuring someone who is fairly new to the blogging world. Please welcome Nicole from Lanier's Lions!!
Lanier's Kindergarten Lions
Nicole was a Barnes & Noble's Teacher of the Year candidate!! She is pictured with her student who wrote an essay about her. :)
Grade or Subject You Teach:
 Kindergarten
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I come from a family that has absolutely no teachers on its family tree but I knew from a very young age that that’s what I wanted to be when I grew up! My mom actually has a Dr. Seuss All About Me book that I filled out when I was 4 stating that I wanted to be a teacher so I could be the boss!  All through my childhood, I spent my afternoons playing school, house, store & Barbie’s with my friends. It never got old! When I was in 2nd grade, my teacher inspired me even more by giving me old workbooks, papers, and text books to support my teaching addiction! She was one of those teachers that really showed she cared and made you feel like you could do or be anything! I always wanted to be just like her.
Describe your teaching "personality":
I smile every morning as I'm walking to my classroom because I absolutely LOVE my job and couldn't image doing anything else! I'm an actress/ rock star/ artist/ comedian to a whole bunch of short people that I adore! I've been known to cry when a struggling student sounds out his first word. I laugh at 5 year old jokes and then repeat them to my friends. (Who don't laugh because you had to be there!) I think it's a compliment when a student calls me "Mommy". I know that every child in my classroom can learn and it's my job to find the connection that makes their light bulb go off! My students are my kids forever and not just for one year. My classroom atmosphere is warm, safe, and full of learning at all times! I know how to be goofy and serious when needed. I've been blessed with a gift from God and have a tremendous purpose in my life to teach and love my students no matter where they come from! Everyday is a new beginning and a chance to start over for me and for my kidsI laugh at myself all the time and I enjoy life! My inner child comes out on a daily basis and I never get tired of reading/ singing Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom!
What is your favorite subject to teach?
I love everything about kindergarten but my favorite subjects are Science & Social Studies! I have a talent (at least I think I do) for creating thematic units so I get to teach Science & Social Studies in every aspect of my day!!!
What made you decide to begin blogging?
I love to share and find new ideas for my classroom! I’ve always told myself that if I ever got in a rut I would change grade levels. Well, I’ve been in K for 9 years now and I’m always reinventing myself thanks to my fellow teachers on the internet! I wanted to give back by sharing my ideas and be a part of an awesome network of teachers!
If you could give one piece of advice to your fellow teachers & bloggers, what would it be?
Never let a parent bring you down because you have 19 others that think you're AWESOME! (My average class size is about 20 every year. ) Always keep an open mind to other opinions and ideas and when you think you're the perfect teacher....RETIRE because there's someone waiting to take your place!!!
Finish this sentence: You know you're a teacher when...
you spend hours on Pinterest and have the list of "Things to Do" to prove it!!!
You know you're a teacher when your husband rolls his eyes at the weird stuff
you bought at the Dollar Store because he just doesn't get it!
I love this....I could go on all day!!!  LOL
Any personal links you would like to share with readers (TPT, TN, Pinterest, Etsy)?
