A How-To on Blog Button Scrolls and Another Linky Party!

Phew! Bear with me...this may be a long one! I'm trying to have proper blog etiquette and only post once a day, but I feel like I have so much that I want to blog about! Tips, ideas, linky's hard to choose, so I'm going to combine a few together!

First off... are you overwhelmed with those bloggy buttons? I don't know about you, but I follow a ga-zillion blogs! I love each and every one of them dearly & want to display my bloggy pride by showing them all off! However, I don't want my blog to be a million miles long of buttons. That's why I fell in love with this...

I originally found the blog button scroll on Jen's blog, The Teacher's Cauldron and knew that I HAD to figure out how to do it!! I am so excited about it, that I want to share how to do this. I apologize if this is an old tip that you may have heard a new blogger, this was the best thing invented since ice cream cake!

So, this is how you do it:

1. Go into your layout page and click on Add a New Gadget

2. Then select HTML/Javascript

3. Add the following code in the text box:

<center><div class="textwidget"><marquee direction="up" width="200" onmouseover="this.stop()" scrollamount="5" onmouseout="this.start()" height="400" align="center"> THIS IS WHERE YOU ADD THE HTML CODES FOR YOUR FAVORITE BUTTONS! (You can add as many as you like!) </marquee></div>

The numbers in pink can be manipulated so it will fit in your sidebar. The number in blue makes the scroll go faster or slower. Note: I follow so many blogs that my scroll is still a work in progress!

Okay so now I'm linking up at Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera to participate in her All-Time Favorite Read Alouds linky party. Here are a few of my favorites:

I have a pirate themed classroom & these are my absolute favorites. They are a riot!!
The following are some of my favorite back to school read alouds:

I love the Froggy series by Jonathan London! He always seems to get himself in a pickle!! Chrysanthemum is such a sweet story. I love to read that to teach my students that there is nothing wrong with being unique.

Wow, that was a lot! If you are still with me, thanks for sticking with this post. I am currently in the process of creating things to be able to post as freebies for you within the next few days. Have a great evening! Friday is right around the corner!!
