Monday Made It: 8-12-13 + FREEBIES

Wowzers! I'm back for another Monday Made It with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics!

 

I have been in full school mode these past 2 weeks, so I am cranking out some goodies. My first official day back is **sigh** TOMORROW! I can't remember a summer flying by so fast... Here is what I've been up to this week!

First I made these birthday cups instead of birthday goody bags to hand out to my students this year! I bought the cups & lids on Amazon (50 @ $19.99). It may sound a little steep, but it will last me 2 years so I figured, why not! I bought a bag of smarties mixed candy at Walmart, added some shredded paper, courtesy of Michael's ($3.99 + 40% off coupon), and topped it with a red tootsie roll pop. I am so excited about how they came out!!

 Next up are my birthday straw balloons!

 

I can't claim the fame for making these balloons. These balloons are from the talented Melissa Freshwater from Mrs. Freshwater's Class. I wanted to make them with giant pixie sticks this year, but I figured with the birthday cups above that I'd better not load my lovelies up with too much sugar, so I opted for crazy straws instead. ;)

 

 

Next up, I printed up my pirate themed bunting to go with my classroom bulletin board (unfortunately I only have one...yes one!)

 

It says "Our Work Is A Treasure". I'm hanging it up with twine so it gave it a little more of a "pirate" look. It stays up all year long & I just have to change out the work samples! :) You can find this in my TPT store here.

 

 

Last, I printed up the circles that go with my Pirate Ribbon Birthday Display.

 I found this awesome skull & crossbones ribbon last year at Michael's and created this pirate display hanging from ribbons for each month of birthdays. I thought it gave it a different touch of displaying birthdays!

I'm just waiting on finalizations of my classroom roster to fill in the names and dates. You can find this in my TPT store here.

 

I also made 2 new job charts that are EDITABLE!! I now have a monkey themed job chart and an owl themed job chart in my TPT shop. Click on the pictures below to see what they're all about!!

I am sooooo excited!! Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching is back!! I love being able to share with you the happenings of my week and I have some exciting pictures to share with you this week!

1. My 3D/4D Ultrasound!

I was so excited today, because I got a 3D/4D ultrasound done today!!! I got to meet my little girl up close and she is a beauty. I can't wait to officially meet her!!! 10 more weeks to go...

 

 

2. Getting Ready to Go Back to School

Well Monday is officially back to school time for me. I am heading in to get my classroom set up. Good thing though, because check out this back to school pile up on my dining room table...

 

I think the hubs is about to have a heart attack, but I assured him it will be going with me on Monday morning!! LOL...oh did I mention that my trunk is already full too?!?

 

3. Back to School Blogger Exchange

 

I am participating in a back to school blogger exchange that was organized by Covered in Glitter and Glue! I am sending off my package tomorrow to the blogger I was paired up with. It's so exciting to be able to spread some cheer to each other this time of year when we are all stressed out & gearing up to go back to school. Who will be getting this mystery package?!?! :-)

 

4. Pen Pal Exchange!

 

I am participating in the Pen Pal Exchange that was organized by sweet Kelley over at Teacher Idea Factory!

 

I was paired up with Nicole, a teacher from Missouri and we've already corresponded & I can't wait!! I feel like I can talk to her for hours. We are both very excited to get started a few weeks into the school year & we both teach at schools that are very similar. This is a great opportunity for both of us!

 

5. The Keys to Our Success

I finally finished up my most recent TPT product, The Keys to Our Success! This pack includes 75 award/celebration tags for your students to collect all throughout the year. I am having my students collect them on a keyring to proudly display in the classroom or even on their backpacks. You can even have students collect them on a necklace throughout the year. What I really like about it is that it can be used for ALL students, not just your top shining stars. I like to differentiate to make everyone feel special in our classroom.

Currently....AUGUST?!?!?

Okay, I L-O-V-E Farley's monthly Currently linky party. I really, really do, BUT August is my least favorite one. Why you might ask although you probably know why already? It's a reminder for me that it's BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!

So I know this has been coming. I do...but I don't want to admit it's happening! :-)

Here's what I'm up to currently!

 

I am headed into my classroom on Monday morning for the very first time...EEEK!!! Time to get back into the swing of it all, but 2 minus 2 months until I will be on maternity leave. It is a bit overwhelming right now, but I know it will all fall into place.

Tomorrow I go for a 3D/4D ultrasound to see our newest little one. Five for Friday will be back tomorrow from what I hear, so I will be sharing my photos with you all. I am so excited!!!

My back to school must haves right now all center around printing and laminating. Lots to do & prepare!!

I'm sure you've all heard of the Sam's Club deal on laminating pouches. That's my go-to place for laminating pouches- 200 pouches for $20. You can't beat that!!
