Open House Tuesday: Classroom Pictures and Good Morning America Tomorrow!!

Happy Terrific Tuesday Friends!,

Stressful doesn't even begin to describe my Tuesday, but I keep telling myself everything that it will be okay. In my county, we are implementing 4 new programs this year, including Common Core and Standards Referenced Grading. I know that it will be fantastic once we figure everything out. It has just been overwhelming.
So that leads me to my next question...Does anybody have any advice about Common Core Assessments?? Standard Referenced Grading??? I know many of you have been implementing this for a bit now & I would love to hear and pass along any words of wisdom!

Today is Open House Tuesday on TBA. I shared my classroom pictures in a post recently. Click HERE to view that post and see all of my classroom pictures!!

Okay...the moment I've been waiting for...Good Morning America!! TOMORROW IS THE DAY!!! As I've told many of you, the executive producer of GMA contacted me a few weeks ago & asked to use some of my blog and back to school pictures as a part of a back to school picture segment. I just got word a few minutes ago that it is going to air tomorrow morning, so set those DVR's!! I can't wait!!! :)

Have a great evening!!,

  2. Very cool {about GMA}! I'll have my DVR set :)
My school has told us that we are to throw away our reading series and adopt the CCSS - totally. Now, have they provided assessments, curriculum ideas and such? No. So, I am at a loss, too!
I bought this 1st grade Common Core workbook that has assessments and activities {$40} and I am hoping to use that for grades.

    I hope this helps,

  11. We are using Common Core for grading at our school too. We have an official grade, but for K-2 it's just Outstanding, Satisfactory, or Needs Improvement. We created a list of all the standards and a space for Meets, In Progress, Not Met, Not Addressed. This covers all our bases for if the student does/doesn't understand or if it hasn't been taught yet at that particular point in the year.

I made checklists for K-2 language arts and math standards all broken down to help me keep track of whether the student "Meets" all parts of the long standards, or is still "in progress." You can find the List of links here that lead to the right pages of my TPT store if you want ideas.
