Happy Monday Friends,
I hope you enjoyed your Monday whether you were at work or off. I was off today, but spent it caring for my sick little one. She woke up with a cough & the sniffles this morning and then started complaining about her ear. I whisked her off to the doctor to find out that it is an ear infection. A few antibiotics later, we are on our way to recovery.
Hang on folks, this one is a bit long today, but worth the read...
I'm feeling a little blah today so I am linking up with 2 linky parties!
First is one of the sweetest bloggers I know...Lyndsey from A Year Of Many Firsts is hosting a "Stuffed With Thankful Thoughts" linky party. I know that I posted about some things that I'm thankful for already, but why not review! :)
I am thankful for...
1. My beautiful daughter who is the world to me.
2. My husband who listens and is so compassionate whenever I need some advice.
Here is a picture of them... the other lovely lady in the wedding dress is my lil' sis!
3. My family who are my biggest supporters. They are behind me no matter what... Here are my mom & dad:
4. I am so thankful for being in a career that I ADORE!! I love teaching!!!
5. I am thankful for the friends I have that stick by my side no matter what.
and FINALLY...
6. I am thankful for the blogging friends that I have made in this community. You guys are the absolute best. I love how we share and collaborate together. Thank you for all of your support. It definitely doesn't go unrecognized. You have helped me become a better teacher, period, end of sentence.
The next linky party I am linking up with is from Beach, Sand, and Lesson Plans for her "Let's Talk Turkey" linky party!
This linky involves sharing your favorite Thanksgiving lesson (free or paid) and some of your favorite Thanksgiving read alouds!
First, I wanted to share one of my favorite activities to do around Turkey Time... disguising a turkey. I have been doing this activity for many years now & it's probably on my top favorites list. Here are some of my turkey disguises from the past:
I give my students an outline of a turkey and send a letter home with the parents to help them disguise Tom Turkey to avoid Thanksgiving dinner. They come out fabulous every year!!! :)
Gladys from Teaching In High Heels has a cute activity pack to go along with this!! It gives more examples of turkeys in disguise, bulletin board ideas, rubrics, you name it!
Click HERE to check it out in her TPT store!!
Along with this book, I like to read the story Turkey Trouble. It is all about disguising a turkey so it fits perfectly with this project:
I also just LOVE Twas The Night Before Thanksgiving! It is one of my favorites. I love the rhyming and the story behind it. It cracks me up!
Along with this, we will be making several Thanksgiving Craftivities from my new Thanksgiving Craftivity and Writing Pack. One will be a Trivial Turkey Facts book craftivity with some cool facts, like turkeys have heart attacks (I didn't know that before, lol).
Click HERE to take a peek!
Share your favorite Thanksgiving activities with Gina at Beach, Sand, and Lesson Plans.
Okay I promised you on Saturday that I would give away 1 pack of my Thanksgiving Craftivity & Writing, so here it goes...DRUMROLL please....
#3: Liz from Teaching in the Valley!! Congrats! I will be emailing you shortly.
If you are interested in my pack, it is for sale in my store for $5.00. Click the link above to take you there!
See you soon friends!! :),
WOW Lisa! What a jam packed post! So much to be thankful for! Thanks for linking up with me! I also think disguising a turkey is tons of fun. I plan on doing that this week. I haven't seen the book Turkey Trouble so I will check it out. I love having a read aloud to go with projects & lessons.
