It's Fabulous Blogger Friday!!!

Happy Fabulous Friday!!
It's Friday again and that means it time for Fabulous Blogger Friday!! Today I'm excited to be featuring Storie from Stories by Storie! :)

Grade or Subject You Teach:
2nd Grade

What inspired you to become a teacher?
I wish I could tell you that special moment in time where that one teacher just made everything click, but it wasn't like that for me. I can only remember that in the fourth grade, I suddenly wanted to become a math teacher.

Describe your teaching "personality":
I teach a structured balance of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic styles. I like to teach in small groups to meet the needs of my students. I tend to put in a lot of extra hours to make my lessons meaningful and engaging for students.

What is your favorite subject to teach?
I go back and forth between Reading and Math.

What made you decide to begin blogging?
There's something about blogging that inspires me to be a better teacher. It's like having an endless supply of colleagues who are willing to share and collaborate with you every step of the way.

If you could give a piece of advice to your fellow teachers and bloggers, what would it be?
Can I ask for advice instead? For those of you with little ones at home, what tips do you have for keeping school at school so you can focus on your family at home?

Finish this sentence: You know you're a teacher when:
Deciding on a name for your child becomes a near-impossible task. Have you seen that episode of How I Met Your Mother?

Any personal links that you would like to share with readers (TPT, TN, Pinterest, Etsy)?
I do have a TpT store that I would love for you to check out:

  1. I have three boys at home, twins who are 4 and and 5 year old. This year I hope to fit in going to the gym at least 2 days a week after school, so I am really going to have to leave school at school, except for my weekly blog posts. Last year, though I completed everything at school such as lesson plans, grading and preparing for the next week's lesson. How did I do it? I plan once a week with my 4th grade team in which we split up the subjects to plan. We try to stay at least a week ahead. As far as grading, I grade immediately after they turn in their test. I really like this because I can give the students immediate feedback and see where they are having trouble. Last to prepare for the coming week, I stay on Fridays for about 45 minutes after the bell rings to get my class ready for the following week. Sorry to be so long! Hope this helps!

  2. Loved learning a lot about you. I have older kids, but my best advice would be to enjoy your family first, then do your school work after your kids go to bed. Your kids will grow up too fast and don't miss that precious time with them!!

  3. My advice is to get what you can get done at school and leave the rest there:) I have two boys (8 and 11) and have tried to bring work home only to bring it back the next day untouched and feeling bad about it.

I do stay for up to an hour after contractual time to continue working, but then leave guilt free:)
